New Products

GoGo Quinoa
Obtain the benefits of quinoa with new GoGo Quinoa products. According to Shelley Case, celiac disease expert, author and registered dietitian, quinoa contains more high quality protein than any other grain or cereal. Quinoa is high in iron, magnesium, phosphorus and zinc and contains calcium, B vitamins and fibre.

Only Oats
Try the great variety of Only Oats from FarmPure Foods! Only Oats are free of wheat, barley, rye, triticale, kamut, spelt and other grains that are closely related to wheat; ideal for the majority of people with celiac disease or wheat sensitivities. Speak to your health-care professional before introducing pure, uncontaminated oats to your diet.

Medtrition Liquid Protein and Fiber
Take your supplements the fast, easy way with great tasting ProSource Liquid Protein and HyFiber Liquid Fiber. ProSource is a high quality protein supplement that contains 15 grams of protein per 2 Tablespoons. HyFiber contains 11 grams of soluble fiber with added prebiotics. No mixing or dissolving needed.

News from the Dietitians

Have a Question about Celiac Disease?
The Canadian Celiac Association has a help line with dedicated volunteers who are eager to help you adjust to the gluten-free diet. Calls are answered within 24 hours. Leave your email address to get an answer online. Call 416-781-9140.

The SickKids Family Knowledge Group (SKFKG) wants your input!
The SickKids Family Knowledge Group is looking for volunteer reviewers and editors (no experience necessary) to ensure that the books SickKids publish are interesting, educational, practical, written in plain English and genuinely help provide the best care for children. Ideas for new books often come from appointments with patients and research activities. However, a parent/caregiver perspective on SickKids’ best-selling books is equally important -  as only parents and caregivers can identify the issues that are most important for them, their families, or others involved in the care of their children.

Members will receive invitations for book reviews and other projects (e.g., focus groups and online surveys) directly to their inbox and can choose projects at their convenience.  No matter what – members will receive timely and relevant information and practical tips via email from SickKids on important child health and wellness topics.

Visit www.skfamilyknowledgegroup.ca or call 416-813-7654 (press 1) extension 2971 to join.
