The Specialty Food Shop was established in 1982 to help children and adults live well with a variety of special dietary needs. More than 40 years later, the Specialty Food Shop is still providing people of all ages with products and services to help maintain health.
We pride ourselves on offering a wide selection of carefully selected products, all available online and delivered right to your door.
Our Clientele:
One of Specialty Food Shop’s greatest accomplishments is serving the dietary needs of various populations across Canada. These populations include individuals with food allergies, celiac disease, dysphagia, energy boosting needs, inherited metabolic disorders, cystic fibrosis and patients requiring assistive feeding devices.
The Staff:
Wendy – Diet Technician
Wendy is the Diet Technician of the Specialty Food Shop. She is a graduate of the Food and Nutrition course at Centennial College. Wendy brings more than 20 years of experience and a wealth of knowledge to her role. Her area of expertise is enteral feeding devices. Questions about G and GJ tube feeding devices? Olivia – Manager
Olivia joined the Specialty Food Shop team after earning a Bachelor of Applied Science in Nutrition & Food at Toronto Metropolitan University. Olivia has worked for Specialty Food Shop for almost 10 years, first as a Nutrition Associate, and now as Manager. She is a huge foodie with a specialized interest in digital marketing, ecommerce & the newest market trends.
Kevin – Inventory Co-ordinator
Kevin joined Specialty Food Shop in 2013 as Retail Nutrition Associate before taking on his current role as Inventory Co-ordinator. He is an extreme foodie and loves trying new products, you can often find him snacking on all our treats.
Zainab – Team Lead
Zainab first joined Specialty Food Shop as a Nutrition Associate in 2023 before becoming our Team Lead in 2024. She studied Nutrition & Food at TMU. Throughout school she worked many jobs in fitness and customer service. She's a big foodie and loves experimenting with baking in the kitchen. If customers are looking for their favourite product, they can send sfs.admin@sickkids.ca an email with their product request, and she’ll do her best to bring it to the shop!
Nutrition Associates
